friends and family. Thomason mentioned the small turn out on previous occasions in
spite of events being publicized. Thomason asked for suggestions for a title about this
/ program with Sheri Sharp. After several attempts from the commission it was decided
that it should be called: An Evening with Shari Sharp, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orville
Jackson.
Commissioner Stafford offered to notify the same contacts that she has used in the past
to promote the program for October 23`d
Commissioner Scott offered to video tape the program using the city's video equipment.
Thomason stated that the program would be run as a round table, with question and
answers in a casual atmosphere.

This was tabled also because Alana Dunn was absent.
New Business:
Merrill Rooster Project: Commissioner Thomason stated that he spoke with Galan and Nancy
Merrill at an event in City Hall the previous evening. They told Thomason that they were very
excited about the Rooster being placed in the Merrill Park. They stated that the rooster was in
excellent condition because they had it completely restored when it resided in Emmett.
Commissioner Thomason stated that Mr. Mike Aho head of Parks and Paths was invited to
attend the meeting tonight. Since he was absent Commissioner Scott called his cell phone, Mr.
Aho stated he was detained due an overtime meeting with the city attorney. He also stated that
if the Commissioners could wait for him he would be there in a short time. The Commissioners
agreed to wait.
Casual chatter ensued while waiting for the arrival of Mr. Aho. Topics of discussion included;
Steps needed to nominate the Beal property to the National Register of Historic Places,
Commissioner Stafford needs a map of boundaries of Eagle and Meridian, getting involved with
Preservation Idaho, letter boxing, and the possibility or not of homes tours.
Mr. Mike Aho arrives with an apology to the Commission. Commissioner Thomason stated to
Mr.Aho that the Commission felt strongly that the Merrill rooster should be placed in Merrill
Park. He also stated that the Commission wants his input in this project. Mr.Aho stated the
concerns of his group are the ascetics of the park with placement of the Merrill rooster. He
stated that they have studied many possibilities of placement with no really good plan at this
point. He states that the park has a very natural look with native plants and feels that the
rooster would hamper that look. Mr Aho stated that we needed to talk with Parks and Rec in
order to move this forward. Hopefully to corroborate a plan that would be pleasing to all. Mr
Aho stated that ultimately he would work directly with us to determine a location for the
rooster in the park. It was established that we meet with Parks and Rec. This meeting would
take place:
On Tuesday October 15, at 5:30 p.m. during their regular meeting at city hall.
Chairman Thomason closed the meeting stating that our next meeting would be on Oct.9, 2013.
Respectfully submitted,
