Minutes - 2012 - Historic Preservation Commission - 12/12/2012 - Regular Eagle Historic Preservation Commission Minutes of December 12, 2012 Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairman Thomason at 5:32 p.m. Roll Call: Commissioners Frank Thomason, Karianne Fallow, Pam Kelch, Diane Scott, Rita Stafford, Sean Nickel, Jack Bearden, all were present. Unfinished Business: A: Approval of Minutes: 1st Karianne, and was 2nd by Rita Stafford, all other Commissioners replied with an aye. B: Grant applications update: Karianne explained to all commissioners the details of our previous and current sign project in order for our newest commissioners to be on board with our project. Pam stated that she will draft all the information for the properties that have been chosen. This led to a discussion about the Carpenter property, which is slated to be demolished next year. Pam suggested that we chose another property such as the Museum Bldg. The property qualifies in many ways, ie: age, history, and position in our Downtown area. Chairman Thomason asked for a vote Chariman Scott 2nd and Fallow 3rd as well as all were in favor. Karianne has offered to work with Pam. This is Karianne's second grant she has written for the Commission. There was also some discussion about visiting the Carpenter property to photograph before demolition. C: Resumes: The resumes from all the commission members have been sent to Ann Swanson, SHIPO. Karianne stated that Ann Swanson had sent her a questionnaire to be filled out from our Commission. Frank stated that in the 21 years he has been involved with It was decided that perhaps that the former curator, Laurie Baker may have been getting this information and since she has left the Museum then we are now out of the information loop. Commissioner Stafford informed us that the Mace Farm had been sold all but 7 acres and her house. A developer will be planning to build homes on this land. Also that Mace road will be cut off from access from Eagle Road. New Business: Election of Officers- Chairman Frank Thomason encouraged each of the commissioners to seek an office when elections are held at a later date.
