Minutes - 2010 - Historic Preservation Commission - 01/13/2010 - Regular EAGLE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Minutes of the Meeting of January 13,2010 Call to Order: Chair, Frank Thomason, called the meeting to order at 5:36 p.m. Roll Call and Introductions: Present were commission members Karianne Fallow, Diane Scott, and Nancy Suiter. Museum volunteer, Pam Kelch, and Museum Curator, Laurie Baker, also attended. Commission member, Mark Pelkoski was absent. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Approval of Minutes: Diane Scott moved and Kari Fallow seconded the motion to approve the minutes of the November 11,2009, meeting. The motion passed. Certified Local Government Grant: (See details re CLG in minutes of 11/11/09) Laurie Baker noted that the application for the Grant should have been advertised. Copies of the grant application have been sent to five consultants. Three have respol)ded. The Request for Qualifications (RFQ) should be in by the end of January and:tlietfit'~"'::_- '?/PZ:L- consultants should be on board by March 23. Frank Thomason asked about the deadline for the grant and Ms. Baker said the grant expires August 31, 2010 . Register of Historic Sites in Eagle: Pam Kelch reported that pictures of some of the barns in the area have been taken but she and Diane Scott plan to go out soon to take additional pictures of other possibly eligible properties and to make certain all are up-to-date. They will try to have all photos available for review by the Commission at the March meeting. Frank Thomason recommended that both this project and the CLG report be ready for presentation to the Eagle City Council at the same time. NEW BUSINESS Council Presentation: Laurie Baker suggested that members of the Commission attend the February 23rd meeting of the Eagle City Council so they may be introduced to the newest members of the Council. Miscellaneous Business: Diane Scott regretted the lack of Christmas decorations in the city in December and suggested that next year perhaps a service club, scout group, or church group might be approached about decorating for the Holiday. Kari Fallow offered to write press releases regarding any new milestone the Commission achieves. Laurie Baker announced new museum hours to take effect next Monday; The Museum will be closed Mondays and Tuesdays, open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesdays through Thursdays, 10 am.-5 p.m. Fridays, and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturdays.
