Minutes - 2006 - Historic Preservation Commission - 07/11/2006 - Regular THE EAGLE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION MINUTES FROM THE MEETING OF: July 11,2006 The meeting was called to order at 10: 15 a.m. by Secretary Betty Fisher Roll Call: Commission members attending were: Betty Fisher, Weldon Fisher, and Anne Gibson. Also attending was Geneva Trent. Approval of Minutes: Anne made a motion to accept the minutes of the June 6th, 2006 meeting as written, Betty seconded the motion, and the motion passed. Approval of Expenditures: There are no expenditures to be paid this month. It was noted that Sharon Bergmann has e-mailed the Museum that as of7/11/06 the Historic Commission is out of cash, and expenditures for the rest of the fiscal year will have to come out of the General Fund, and that all expenditures except for utilities and payroll need to be brought to her attention prior to spending the funds. The members discussed having the Historical Society pay for transcribing the oral interview tapes for Arthur Hart. Curator's Report: It was noted that the Curator's report had been mailed to members with the agenda, and did not have to be discussed. Program - Car Show: Betty reported that she and DeeDee Sharp have gotten several sponsors for the Car Show. Final plans and activities will be considered at the next meeting. Goals for Fiscal Year 2006-2007: A copy of the proposed goals for the coming year, with changes that were suggested at the prior meeting, was provided for Commission approval. Weldon moved to accept the goals for the coming year as written, Betty seconded the motion, and motion passed. Budget for Fiscal Year 2006-2007: Geneva presented a proposed budget for the coming fiscal year, and answered the few questions that were asked. Betty moved that the budget be approved and presented to the City Council, Weldon seconded, and the motion passed. Acceptance of Donations: Geneva showed the items that had been donated, and Anne moved to accept all items on the list except the portion of a June 18, 1960, Idaho Statesman that had been found in Orville Jackson's Drug Store building and was oil soaked and not usable. Weldon seconded the motion, and motion passed. Calendars: Printing and selling calendars was discussed, Weldon said that people are not interested in them, and Anne agreed and said we should not pursue them. No further action taken. Recommendations of New Commission Member: Geneva presented the letter of interest from DeeDee Sharp and some information about her. Weldon moved that she be recommended to the City Council for appointment to the Historical Commission, Betty seconded the motion, and motion passed. Page 1 of2 Otber: Weldon said he would like the Commission to get involved in landscaping at Hill Road Park and install markers on the Goodale Cut-off. There was also discussion on collecting more information on the canal system, laterals and ditches, and irrigation and water rights; the consensus was that there should be at least one chapter in Arthur Hart's book about this. Adjournment: There being no other business, Betty adjourned the meeting at 10:55 am.
