Minutes - 2006 - Historic Preservation Commission - 06/06/2006 - Regular THE EAGLE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION MINUTES FROM THE MEETING OF: June 6, 2006 The meeting was called to order at 9:40 a.m. by Chairman Diane Scott. Roll Call: Commission members attending were: Diane Scott, Betty Fisher, and Anne Gibson. Also attending was Geneva Trent, and Elizabeth Jacox and Barbara Perry Bauer of TAG Historical Reasearch & Consulting. Presentation: Survey of Selected Agricultural Properties: Elizabeth Jacox and Barbara Perry Bauer showed photos of some of the properties they had surveyed, and explained that 8 of the houses (out of30) had been moved from their original locations. Also showed the four sites that they believed worthy of National Register of Historic Places nominations. Weldon Fisher arrived at 9:55 a.m. Approval of Minutes: Weldon made a motion to accept the minutes of the May 3rd, 2006 meeting as written, Diane seconded the motion, and the motion passed. Approval of Expenditures: Expenditures to be paid are $29.50 from Printworks Company for copies, and $69.30 from Geneva for books and a book repair kit. Geneva also asked if the invoice for Chamber of Commerce dues should be paid by the Historical Commission or the Eagle Historical Society. Weldon moved that the Chamber of Commerce dues invoice be given to the Eagle Historical Society, and the other expenses be approved by Commission members initialing each one. Betty Fisher seconded the motion, motion passed. Curators Report: Diane asked that members read the Curator's Report (of which each member had received a copy) separately and not take time for it during the meeting, but to move on. Programs - Car Show: Geneva showed the forms she had prepared for obtaining sponsors, and suggested the flyers for the car show can be handed out at the Baptist Church car show this weekend. Goals for Fiscal Year 2006-2007: Diane moved that this item be tabled to a special meeting next week, Weldon sedonded the motion, motion passed. Activity for Last Thursdays: Geneva explained that Barbara with the Arts Commission had called and wants to know if the Museum wants to participate in the Last Thursday Art Walk during the next four months. Following a short discussion about what could be done with such short notice and that we do not have volunteers to keep the Museum open on those Thursday evenings, Betty moved that we not participate this year but plan to participate next year; Weldon seconded the motion, motion passed. Page 1 of2 Acceptance of Donations: Diane moved to accept the list of donated items ready for Commission consideration, Betty seconded the motion, and it passed. Bid for Bam Exhibit: The bid by Neil Buckley to build a bam, chicken coop and back porch exhibits was discussed. Weldon moved that the bid be tabled until after he and Geneva had a chance to go visit the Job Corps and see if they would be interested in building what we want. Anne Gibson seconded the motion, and the motion passed. Weldon also told the group about trying to put together a field trip up Dry Creek, but because of a variety of problems it will not be held until late June or July if at all. Diane asked that the next meeting agenda include a new sign for out front on the sidewalk. Adjoumment: There being no other business, Diane adjourned the meeting at 11 :48 am.
