Minutes - 2005 - Historic Preservation Commission - 01/05/2005 - Regular THE EAGLE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF: January 5, 2005 Meeting was called to order by chairman Weldon Fisher at 1:15 p.m. Commission members in attendance were Weldon Fisher,Diane Scott, Geneva Trent, Lois Kinkler, and Theresa Steach. Also attending was Annie Gibbens. The minutes of September 1, 2004, were reviewed. Lois Kunkler moved that they be accepted as written, motion seconded by Diane Scott, motion passed. Diane stated that the minutes of the October 2004 meeting were lost. The minutes of the November 17, 2004, meeting were reviewed; Diane noted that they needed to be corrected to say that she will purchase the power back-up/surge protector. Lois moved that the minutes be approved as corrected, seconded by Diane, and passed. The members discussed ideas for a strategic plan. Terry wanted it to include signs for older homes. Diane will do oral histories and re-organize museum displays. Weldon wants outdoor displays (in front of museum) to attract more attention. Geneva agreed to write up a proposed plan for approval at the next meeting. The issue of museum staffmg was discussed. It was noted that RSVP helps staff the Elmore County Museum at Mountain Home on Mondays through Thursdays. Terry moved that we submit a proposal to the City for a part-time employee to staff the museum, seconded by Lois, and passed. Other items discussed were Mary Shaw postcards, with the conclusion that printing these or similar historic postcards should be a project of the Eagle Historical Society, and the need for election of officers at the next meeting.
