THE EAGLE HISTORIC PRESERVATION
COMMISSION
MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF:
March 19, 2003
Meeting was called to order by vice-chairman Lois Kunkler.
Commission members in attendance were Geneva Trent, Lois Kunkler, and Theresa Steach
Terry Steach moved that we approved the Minutes of the meetings of September 11, 2002, November
6,2002, and January 15, 2003; Geneva Trent second; approved as written.
The notebook of Register of Historic Sites was reviewed. Lois Kunkler said she didn't think anyone
person should do all the work, and suggested that at the next meeting we divide the pages up and
have different ones collect the information on the sites.
A tape recorder for doing oral interviews was discussed, and it was suggested that we let Diane Scott
continue to search for one.
Terry Steach made a motion to table a decision on the Museum Statement of Purpose and
Procedures until the next meeting, seconded by Geneva Trent and passed.
New exhibits in the Museum were discussed, and an entry desk in the museum at which historic
books can be displayed for sale was planned. It was suggested that Weldon Fisher and Geneva plan
it and determine the dimensions; Terry Steach moved that when it is planned that Geneva should go
ahead and contact Correctional Industries to order it, Lois Kunkler seconded, all aye.
The next Historic Preservation Commission report for Pre-Council meeting was discussed as well as
preparing the meeting agendas and recording and filing the minutes. Lois Kunkler requested that
Geneva Trent prepare the written report for the next Pre-Council meeting, and then the others can
take that as a sample and take turns presenting subsequent reports. At the next meeting we will
discuss who should be in charge of preparing the agendas and who will take over as secretary.
The other Historic Preservation Commission meetings for this year are scheduled for May 21"t, July
16t\ September 17th, and November 19th.
