Minutes - 2002 - Historic Preservation Commission - 09/11/2002 - Regular THE EAGLE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF: September 11, 2002 Meeting was called to order by chairman Weldon Fisher. Commission members in attendance were Geneva Trent, Weldon Fisher, and Theresa Steach. Also attending was Diane Scott. Weldon Fisher moved to approve the minutes of January 30,2002. Seconded by Theresa Steach, passed unanimously. A Register of Eagle's Historic Sites was planned, with the criteria for inclusion to be 1) located within the Eagle area of Impact ( primarily within the boundaries of Linder Road, Homer Road, old Higbway 55, and Chinden), 2) must be over 75 years old to be 'Historic" or 50 years old to 75 years old to be "Vintage", 3)must still be standing, 4) must Dot have been altered or added on to so that the original is not recognizable, and 5) can be a home, business building, barn, silo, or other structure. Theresa Steach moved we compile a list of potential sites, and apply for a CLG grant to survey those sites that have not already been surveyed by Ada County; passed unanimously. The oral History Program was discussed, noting tbat Weldon is scbeduling several additional interviews. We still need to purchase our own recorder. It was also noted that tbe store room ofthe museum is cleaned out and ready for cabinets to be built, and that Jolly Ochoa from the State Museum will come next month to help us on deciding what to save for archives and museum exhibits, and wbat to dispose of. Theresa Steach moved that we nominate Diane Scott to be appointed to tbe Historical Preservation Commission, seconded by Weldon Fisber and approved. A letter of appreciation will be prepared and sent to Maggie Jeten for her service to the commission. It was suggested that the next meeting be on November 13th at 10:00 a.m. Meeting adjourned.
