THE EAGLE DISTOBI~ PRESERVATION ~OMMISSION
MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF:
May 17, 2000
Meeting was called to order at 1:05 p.m. by chairman Weldon Fisher.
Commission members in attendance were Weldon Fisher, Geneva Trent, Lois Kunkler and Maggie
Jeters.
The Inventory of Historic Sites was discussed, and it was suggested that we ask City Hall for a plat
map of the Eagle area so that we could identify which properties have been inventoried; noted that
there are some sites down Mace Road and on Eagle Island that qualify as historic sites even though
they are not in the Eagle city limits at this time.
Applying for a grant to inventory historic sites was also discussed, and the consensus of the group
was to wait until the Ada County inventory is done, then to see if additional sites need to be
inventoried and apply for a grant for the additional sites. The group will also think about what else
we may want to apply for a grant for.
Nominations for a fifth member of this commission was discussed. It was reported that Nancy
Merrill had suggested Julia Peck or Nancy Amell. One member didn't think either of them would
be interested; another possible nominee named was Bill Taylor. Members agreed to think about
other people that might be interested and discuss this issue at the next meeting.
Noted that the next meeting will be June 21st at 1:00 pm at City Hall. We will ask Traci to send the
Design Review Guidelines to all Commissioners with the agenda and minutes.
