THE EAGLE HISTORICAL PRESERVATION COMMISSION
Minutes of the meeting of: October 21, 1998
The meeting was called to order at 1:15 PM by Ron Marshall, President.
Commission members present were: Lois Kunkler, Ron Marshall, Betty
Miller, Geneva Trent and Maggie Jeters.
Moved by Kunkler & seconded by Miller to approve minutes of Sept. 16,
1998 meeting as presented; all AYE...motion carried.
Ann Swanson spoke to Ron Marshall re: CLG Grant (Certified local
Government Grant.) Ron also received an official letter from Steve
Guerber, Director of Idaho State Historical Society, noting how they will be
able to help us with the preservation of the old Library.
We need to obtain Professional opinions on price and the amount of work
involved. Get several bids on cost and where to get money needed,
City or?? Also, need to look into the water well at the site.
Chamber of Commerce needs a meeting place which could possibly be in
the Museum, so they may help us also. 1'ell Schools now, about students
community service requirements that can be fulfilled at the Museum by
helping with restoration.
Discussed the Baptist Church at State and the 15 buildings in Eagle, old
enough for Preservation. Questioned if the Barber Shop is old enough, and
1st ST. has some old.homes to investigate.
Ron asked if we should talk to the City Council regarding money from the
City, as we might have a "Visitor Center" in the Museum.
Geneva Trent will check-out Private Grants for Museums.
