MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF:
September 16, 1998
Meeting was called to order at 1:20 p.m. by acting chairman Geneva Trent.
Commission members in attendance were Lois Kunkler, Ron Marshall, Betty Miller, Geneva Trent,
and Maggie Jeters.
Moved by Kunkler and Seconded by Miller to approve minutes of the August 19, 1998 meeting as
presented; all Aye... Motion Carried.
There was discussion about not receiving any response from the City Council on our request to use
the old library building for a local museum. Ron Marshall will follow up on our request by
contacting the Mayor and City Council members.
New officers were elected for the coming year; Ron Marshall was elected as Chairman and Maggie
Jeters volunteered to be Secretary
City Council member Nancy Merrill had obtained a video of the History of Middleton and each
member was asked to watch it at their convenience so we could determine if we would like to do
something similar as a fundraising project.
There was a short discussion on the old Eagle Island Prison Farm and the Parks manager wanting to
tear down all the old buildings.
Moved by Miller and Seconded by Kunkler to adjourn: all Aye...Motion Carried.
