THE EAGLE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF:
July 22, 1998
Meeting was called to order at 1:40 p.m. by acting chairman Geneva Trent.
Commission members in attendance were Betty Miller, Geneva Trent, and Maggie Jeters.
Moved by Miller and Seconded by Jeters to approve minutes of the June 17, 1998 meeting as
presented; all Aye... Motion Carried.
Trent introduced Ron Marshall and announced that he had agreed to fill the vacant seat on the
commission. Moved by Trent and Seconded by Miller to nominate Ron Marshall to fill the vacant
seat on the Historic Preservation Commission; all Aye... Motion Carried.
Ron Marshall told the group about his experiences with working with the city's Design Review, and
recommended that this Commission not become involved in a review of Eagle's Design Review
guidelines for ''turn of the century" design. No action taken.
There was discussion about possibly starting a museum in Eagle; Trent will investigate whether
CLG grants are available for a local museum.
Betty Miller reported that the Ada County Preservation Council had been doing a survey of
historical buildings in Ada County and had gotten as far as Eagle. We will get a copy of their report
when it is available in September.
Mayor Rick Yzaguirre dropped in for a few minutes of the meeting, and when asked about the
possibility of getting the old library building for a museum he instructed us to send a letter to the
City Council requesting the use of the building. Geneva Trent will write the letter and deliver it to
City Hall for the City Council's considertion.
Moved by Miller and Seconded by Jeters to adjourn: all Aye...Motion Carried.
