THE EAGLE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
MINUTES FROM THE MEETING ON AUGUST 13.1997
The forth meeting of the Eagle Historic Preservation Commission began at 10: 15 a. m.
Attending today's meeting was Linda McCloskey, Geneva Trent, Audrey Plott, Margie Plott,
Terry Steach, Betty Miller and guest speaker Ann Swanson from the Idaho Historical Society.
The minutes from the Aug. 5 meeting was approved.
Linda mentioned she put in applications for grants and started working on an information link.
Each member stated their choice of research to focus on:
Geneva- History of Fire Dept.
Audrey -History of Fire Dept.
Linda --Older women's roles in the community
Margie -Churches
Betty --Research the archives
Terry --Oral History from Seniors in Eagle
Ann Swanson spoke after listening to the group talk.
She stated that
A. A few items in the ordinance need be changed.
B. The first thing we need to do is inventory using a systematic collection of
information about buildings.
C. Next; write a National Register Nomination.
D. Then, do a Historic Design Review
E. Also: Read the National Register Bulletin Manuals and be familiar with it.
F. Call Bret Bedeau at 334-3861 to give us info. on inventory.
It was also brought to our attention that a lot of Eagles past history was disposed of.
Margie will be the new liaison to the Eagle library to try to insure that this matter will be rectified.
A new meeting was set for Wednesday Aug 27th at 3:30 p.m. at the Eagle City Hall
The meeting was adjourned at 11 :50 a.m.
