mission statement of the Historical Society. The goals mentioned were: To preserve Eagle
History by researching past history, identifying persons, places and things. Establish a
museum. Site specific displays, walking tours, trolley, outdoor education. Plan ongoing
processes. Discuss how to form the Society, such as recruit members, recruit groups,
members of history clubs, schools, senior citizens, former city leaders, ect. Advertising by
distributing fliers which would include boxes to check off information, such as articles to lend,
pictures, ect. and telling who to contact. These fliers could be distributed at the State Fair, and
through the Chamber of Commerce and local businesses.
We also decided to discuss funding once we are more established. Nancy reviewed the
Centennial Ordinance number #157 that is already in effect and discussed any changes that
might need to be made. A plan was made for the next meeting. These plans include: Looking
at the fliers, contacting groups to attend the next meeting, also to contact the person in charge of
the Veterans group that is interested in building in Eagle.
Linda McCloskey was chosen to be the chairman of the commission. Margie Plott,
Co-chairman, and Audrey Plott is the secretary. The commission liaison is Nancy Merrill.
Frank Thomason from the Ada Express mentioned that he would like to have articles
about the society submitted to him. It was decided that anyone in the group that had something
to submit should give the article to the secretary and she would submit them to the Ada Express.
Frank Thomason also joined the group today. He is also a member of Meridian Historical
Society and will be a valuable asset to our group.

be presented to the mayor awaiting his approval. A budget was discussed briefly, but will be
discussed in further detail at a future meeting. There was also a brief discussion about getting
advice from local architects.
As of today we have proposed a commission that has to be OK'd by the mayor.
