EAGLE DESIGN REVIEW BOARD
MINUTES
July 24, 1997
CALL TO ORDER:
ROLL CALL: The following members were present:, MARTINEZ, MORRAY, PEDERSEN,
VANCE, WITTE, - Present. ABSENT: COUNCIL LIAISON MERRILL. A Quorum is present.
REQUEST FOR APPROVAL: None
OLD BUSINESS: None
NEW BUSINESS:
DR-15-97 - Indoor Recreational Center - Reid Merrill: Reid Merrill is requesting design review
approval for a 47,800 sq. ft. indoor recreational center to be located on the back portion of the
parcel at 1125 E. State Street. The 8-acre site is approximately Y:z-mile east of Eagle Road and
approximately 800-feet south of State Street.
Murray introduces issue.
GENERAL D ISCUSSI ON:
VANCE MOVES to table/continue item until the applicant comes back with a more complete
design. SECONDED BY WITTE. ALL AYE: MOTION CARRIES...
DR-18-97 - McDonald's restaurant with a drive-thru - Loy Taylor: McDonald's Corp.,
represented by Loy Taylor, is requesting design review approval for a McDonald's fast food
restaurant with a drive-thru to be located within Eagle Plaza. The 4.4-acre site is located on the
east side of Eagle Road approximately Y4-mile south of State Street at 174 South Eagle Road
(temp. address).
Murray introduces issue.
GENERAL DISCUSSION:
WITTE MOVES to approve this item with staff's site specific and standard conditions of
approval with the following conditions:
1. The building is approved with the colors presented on the rendering received by the City
on November 15, 1996.
2. The roof beams will be allowed without lighting
3. There will be cultured river rock stone placed below the chair rail height band around the
exterior of the building.
Clarification: Only the wooden areas within the chair rail height band on the building need
to be covered with cultured stone. The glass "front" will not get a wainscot treatment with
cultured stone.
SECONDED BY MARTINEZ. ALL AYE: MOTION CARRIES...
REPORT ON PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION ACTIONS:

Albertson's design review DR-17-95 MOD for the gas island/canopy, convenience store, and
parking addition was approved by Council with condition that the landscape plan go back to the
Design Review Board for their final approval.
ADJOURNMENT: MOVED BY PEDERSEN AND SECONDED BY VANCE TO
ADJOURN. ALL AYE: MOTION CARRIES.......
Having no further business the Design Review Board meeting adjourned.
