EAGLE CITY LANDSCAPING COMMITTEE MEETING
MARCH 3, 1994
Committee members present: Tal Trautman, Laura Markham, Phil Hull,
Morgan Masner, Kelli Blair, Carol West and Barbara Montgomery.
Absent:
Pete Centorino, Meredith Carnahan.
Moved by Blair and seconded by Masner to approve the minutes of
February 3, 1994. Unanimously approved.
ITEMS DISCUSSED:
GORDON JONES MINI STORAGE UNITS: The landscape plan was re-
reviewed at the request of the City Council. The Committee asked
for 12 additional trees, Austrian Pines, to be spaced 30 ft on
center on the south side of the project. The trees must be 6 ft to
8 ft. tall. The north side of the project should have 6 Austrian
Pine 6 ft to 8 ft tall.
3/3/94: EAGLE PUBLIC STORAGE UNITS: The Committee re-reviewed the
landscaping plan for the Gordon Jones Mini Storage Units
application at the request of the City Council. In reviewing the
application it was noted by the Committee Members that additional
landscaping would be justified in certain areas of the Public
Storage Units also. The Committee recommended that Council require
more landscaping for the Public Storage Unit project as follows:
the south side of the project will incorporate 5 gallon arborvitae
at 3 ft. centers. The western portion of the property was
discussed for possible additional landscaping, however members of
the Committee noted there was to be grass in that location and
determined that was sufficient. If the developers of either
project want to add landscaping that would be acceptable.
LYONS PLUMBING:
The Committee reviewed the Lyons Plumbing Design Review and
Landscaping Plan. The building will be metal, but the front face
of the building will be wood surface. Mrs. Lyons noted it would
have the same appearance as the Golf Magic Shop. A chain link
fence with slats will be installed on the west side of the
property. Grass will be planted in the ITD right-of-way and
underground sprinkler system (rotary/gear system) installed on both
sides of the front portion of the project. The plan calls for
spring snow trees, one on the front west portion of the project and
" one on the SE corner of the building, and one on the NE corner of
the lot. The Committee asked for a substitution of Calgary Carpet
Shrub instead of Buffalo shrubs in the front portion of the
building, the trees should be pear or plum. The Committee
suggested changes in the design of the sign. The Lyons will submit
another design to the City staff. The Committee approved the
project subject to the changes noted and that the staff will
approve the sign at a later date.
TATES RENTALS
Approved the landscaping plan for Tates Rents as submitted with the
understanding the chain link fence will include slats, and the
propane tank will be enclosed with the same type of fence.
The sign will be built lower than the original plan and will be
exterior lit.
EAGLE MIDDLE SCHOOL:
Scott Hansen presented landscaping plan of the middle school to the
Committee. The Committee complimented the landscape designer on
the plans and made very few requests. The Committee did note that
the Austrian Pine Trees need to be a 6 to 8 ft tall and the Dogwood
~ need to be 2" caliper.
