Minutes - 1994 - Design Review - 01/06/1994 - Regular EAGLE CITY LANDSCAPING REVIEW COMMITTEE MINUTES January 6, 1994 Those in attendance: Tal Trautman, Kelli Blair, Carol West, Barbara Montgomery, Pete Centorino, Laura Markham and Dave Koga(representing The Land Group) Absent: Meredith Carnahan. Moved by Blair and seconded by Centorino to approve the minutes of December 8, 1993 as presented. SUBJECTS TO DISCUSS: LaRue Acres Subdivision: A draft of the landscaping design was presented to the Committee. There are 2 rows of trees on the south side of the property at this time. Most of those trees will remain. There is a park area with a pond (lots 11 and 12) and a walk way along an existing drain ditch. Although this will be part of the lot there is an easement of 50 ft on each side provided for a walkway. The Committee discussed the walkway, trees and the park/pond area, but were unable to reach any conclusion without a complete set of landscaping plans. There was concern about the entrances to the subdivision as there is no easement and any planting would be on private property. The developer, Chuck Watts, agreed to 2 permanent surface signs being placed on the park location and on Palmetto on the walkway site. The issue was continued until the next meeting when the developer can have final plans before the Committee. Melvins Eagle Point #7: Pete Centorino represented the subdivision for the developers. He outlined the landscaping plan to the Committee. The plan is for phase 1 only. As other portions of the subdivision are developed another plan will be submitted. The entrance to the subdivision will include a monument style sign and they hope to have an Eagle monument there also. The Floating Feather side of the development will have a 4 ft. berm and a fence inside the berm. The berm will be landscaped. The entrance berm will be much taller, probably 10 to 12 ft. The plan was accepted and initialed by the Committee. (see MEP#7 final plat file) ARBORETUM REPORT: Dave Koga, representing the Land Group, presented a Master Planning Proposal to the Committee on the Arboretum. After discussion the Committee agreed that the Arboretum should be first priority, rather than the whole project. Since the City has budgeted a limited amount of funds for this project Dave suggested he submit another proposal to the Committee to review. The City has funded approximately $2,400 for phase 1, to the Land Group to date, with a donation of approximately $1,900. This proposal includes phase 2 ($4,890) and phase 3 ($4,070). The City Clerk will ask the Mayor to attend the Committee meeting when the proposal is reviewed. project. The Committee thought a master plan was essential to the LANDSCAPING STANDARDS: There was no discussion regarding this subject and will be continued to the next agenda. at 9:00 p.m. bara Montgomery Eagle City Clerk/Committee ember -"-"----- - --------"-----------
