EAGLE CITY LANDSCAPING REVIEW COMMITTEE
MINUTES
November 17, 1993
Those in attendance: Tal Trautman, Kelli Blair, Carol West,
Barbara MOntgomery, Pete Centorino, Meg Roberts and Phil
Hull (representing The Land Group) and Laura Markham. Absent:
Meredith Carnahan.
SUBJECTS TO DISCUSS:
EDGEWOOD SUBDIVISION:
Discussion: The trees along Edgewood in relationship to the
sidewalk also adjacent to Edgewood discussed resulted in an
agreement to plant Ash instead of Maple at a minimum of 7 ft from
the sidewalk, unless a deflection devise was installed to protect
the sidewalk from the tree roots moving under them and uplifting
the sidewalk. The north and south entrances were discussed. It
appears that the north entrance is half of the width of the south.
The developer will find out what he can do about the north lot to
see if he can extend the easement so they will look alike. There
was a discussion regarding the easement and the question of the
landscaping being on a private lot rather than an easement. The
developer indicated the plat under review does not show there is a
15 ft easement which terminates at the radius on the south lot. He
indicated he will be berming and fencing the subdivision frontage
and using a pressurized irrigation system throughout the
subdivision including the landscaped easements. The monument style
sign will be 9 ft x 4 ft high and read Edgewood estates. He hasn't
decided which material to use on the sign but it will be masonry or
brick. He will report back to the staff on the easement question
and the style of the sign.
ARBORETUM REPORT: Russell Parson and Steve Nielson appeared before
the Committee with their Boy Scout Troop. They are looking for
Eagle proj ects in order to earn their Eagle badges. After
discussion it was concluded it was to soon to be able to work on
the arboretum but the troop was asked to check the parks for
projects that can be accomplished there. There are pathways that
can be paved and the parks can use picnic tables and benches.
LANDSCAPING STANDARDS: There was discussion on combining the
Design Review and Landscape standards and ordinance. The
discussion included the possibility of the Committee being
responsible for both. There will be further review on this issue,
but for now the Landscaping standards are top priority.
