DESIGN REVIEW MEETING
January 20, 1981

December, 1980 meeting minutes. Motion carried.
Charlie Hartman requested approval for the proposed signs for
Provident Federal Savings & Loan. He showed elevations of the free
standing sign on the SW corner of the lot, the sign above the front
door of the building, and signs stating "open or closed" for the
drive-in lanes.
The proposed sign on the corner will be constructed of wood and
plexiglass. The proposed sign above the front door will be of
wood with a plexiglass insert. The signs in the drive-in window
area are neon type recessed into the fascia.
CROSBY NOVED CINTORINO SECONDED that the Droposed signs for Provj-
dent Federal Savings & Loan be a~proved. The Desian Review Board
gors on record as preferring the signs (other than the drive- in
open & closed) be constru~ted of wood only. If PFS&L can come up
with a sign with the same design, totalJy of wood, they will have
approval of it without coming bacy before the Desirn Review Board.

The Design Review Board reviewed the application # 1-81, U. 8.
Post Office Building. The Contractor on this project is Dinero
Associates of Veradale, Washington. Mr. Greg Paventy, the builder
was not at the meeting.
The following items are what the board feels are at' question and
must be i~cluded in the Post Office construction project.

Design of the exterior of the building does not meet with
design review requirements. The ordinance requires that
the building be done in a wrstern motif.
Anodized aluminum window frames and door frames.
Roof line does not comply with the western motif.
Mullion ba~s on windows.
Li.NDSCAPING
1. LandscaDe plan must include a 6' by 15' planting arra in
the approximate vicinity of parking spot # 10, including
a tr'e and adeQuate shrubbery.
2. Landscape plan must include 3 trees, balled and burla~ped
2-2i inch caliper. Two in front of building in specified

area and one in the new shrub area.

Five foot area on West side of building must be planted with
a~Droved shrubbery.
Existing trees on Easterly border of proDerty will not be reMoved
and must be ~rotected during construction.
Must install underground automatic sprjn~ler system.
lIJATERIAL
T-111 is not an acceptable siding under the ordinance. Re-
gular plywood can only be used in a board & batten Dattrrn.
The batts must be aaplied at 12" on center.
BOARD COll~ENT It is nearly impossible to successfully review a plan
without a representative of the contractor at the meeting to
answer questions. We will write a letter to Mr. Paventy suggest-
ing that he make an appointment and meet with the Board.
