EAGLE PLANNING AND ZONING MEtTING
August 16, 1993
The Eagle Planning and Zoning Commission met in regular session on
1993. Chairman SMITH presiding.
The following members were present: PAULINE HINMAN, BERT BRADLEY,
DONALD BRINTON, MARY BERENT. ABSENT: KEN SMITH
Vice-Chairman HINMAN conducted the meeting in the absence of
Chairman SMITH.
Moved by BRINTON and seconded by BERENT to approve the minutes of
the August 2, 1993 meeting as presented. ALL AYE: MOTION
CARRIED.
PUBLIC HEARING/LaRue Acres, Rezone, PUD-CUP, Subdivision
Vice Chairman HINMAN announced that this was the time and place set
for a public hearing on LaRue Acres Subdivision
Applicant: A. J. Jones, Representative Chuck Watts
Location: E of Palmetto ave at Amanita St.
Proposal: REZONE FROM A TO R8 - PUO/CUP: The subdivision targets
the over 55 age group. 13.4 acres, 76 lots single family, zero lot
line, duplexes and four-plexes(single story). 5.7 units per acre.
4 floor plans offered, the larger 1189 sq. ft, the smaller 947 sq
ft.
Representatives:
Bill Roden, Attorney, Jim Reese, Engineer
Public Testimony: Opposed - Althea Duggins, James Wong, Vata
Cooper. Written Testimony in opposition - Petition with 34 names
submitted to City Hall entered into record.
Concerns of the public: inconsistent with the 1993 comprehensive
plan, not compatible with the neighborhood which includes young
families, no private streets, by ordinance are allowed in the City
of Eagle, opposition to Palmetto build-out to State St.
Public hearing closed at 8:00 p.m.
Moved by BRADLEY to approve a rezone to R6, no variances. To
approved the plat with guidelines approved y ITO and ACHD on the
connection of Palmetto to State St. . motion died for a lack
of a second.
Moved by BRINTON and seconded by BERENT to deny the rezone and plat
as it does not meet the intent of the 1993 Eagle Comprehensive
Plan. AYE: BRINTON, BERENT. Opposed: BRADLEY MOTION CARRIED.
