A special meeting of the Eagle Planning and Zoning Commission was called
to order at 10:00 A. M. by Chairperson Sharp on March 21, 1981 at the
Eagle City Hall.
Members present: ALLRED, BROWNLEE, HILL, SHADE, SHARP, SORENSON,
WAITE. FISHER was excused.
Chairperson SHARP announced that this is the time and the place for
a public hearing on a request from Gary Drown to amend the Future
Acquisitions Map to delete the frontage road between Stierman and
Palmetto.
Gary Drown spoke in favor of his application.
LaRue Bevington, 812 E. State, Eagle, Idaho spoke in favor of the application
and suggested the frontage road be deleted completly.
There being no further testimony the public hearing was declared closed.
A lengthy discussion followed by members of the Planning and Zoning
Commission.
Jim Hill was appointed by the chairperson as a delegate to a highway
committee to discuss the feasibility of making the service road behind
the shopping center a dedicated road.
Moved by SHADE and seconded by HILL that an application by the Eagle
Village Shopping Center has been referred to the Eagle Planning and
Zoning Commission to amend the Eagle Future Acquisitions Map dated
November 27, 1978 to delete the frontage road between Stierman and
Palmetto Roads. The Eagle Planning and Zoning Commission held a
public hearing on March 21, 1981 at which testimony was received. All
testimony received was in favor of this application. The Planning and
Zoning Commission discussed the merits of the application and clearly
found what is proposed to be in compliance with the comprehensive plan of
the City of Eagle; therefore, it is the recommendation of the Eagle Planning
and Zoning Commission to the city council to approve this application.
Moved by HILL and seconded by SORENSON to amend the forggoing motion to
limit the removal of the frontage road only to the north side of State
Street and include the proper terminology for Palmetto Street, as it is
not in existance, but Palmetto Street proposed extension.
