EAGLE VILLAGE #2
Chairperson Sharp read the following staff report.
It is the recommendation of the Subdivision Committee
of the Eagle Planning and Zoning Commission that
Eagle village Subdivision #2 be denied at this time
until the overcapacity situation at the Eagle
Elementary School can be resolved.
Chairperson Sharp read the following statement from August
Hein, Superintendent of the Meridian School District.
The students that will come from this proposed
development will impact on the Eagle Elementary
School which is above capacity as of this date.
Attempts are being made to obtain an additional
ele~nary (ten acres) site so that a second
elementary school might be built to accomodate
additional growth. At this time, a suitable site
has not been found and the school administration
recommends that action on this development be
postponed until a suitable site can be obtained
and plans materialized to build a second elementary
school for Eagle.
Sharon Allred moved that the Planning and Zoning Commission
act on the recommendation of the subdivision committee and
postpone approval of Eagle Village Subdivision #2 because
of the school situation at this time. Blain Sorensen seconded
the motion.
