Special Meeting Minutes
October 30, 2017
1. CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Ridgeway calls the meeting to order at 5:20 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL: KUNZ, BASTIAN, PRESTON, SOELBERG. Soelberg is absent.
A quorum is present.
3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Mayor Ridgeway leads the Pledge of Allegiance.
4. EXECUTIVE SESSION: 74-206(1)(c). When authorized. (1) An executive session
at which members of the public are excluded may be held, but only for the purposes and
only in the manner set forth in this section. The motion to go into executive session shall
identify the specific subsections of this section that authorize the executive session. There
shall be a roll call vote on the motion and the vote shall be recorded in the minutes. An
executive session shall be authorized by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the governing body. An
executive session may be held:
(c) To acquire an interest in real property which is not owned by a public
agency;
1. Potential purchase of real property
2. Potential lease of real property
Kunz moves pursuant to I.C. 74-206(1)(c) that we enter an Executive Session for the
purpose of discussing an acquisition of interest in real property not owned by the
agency, specifically the potential purchase or lease of real property. Seconded by
Preston. Bastian: AYE; Preston: AYE; Kunz: AYE: ALL AYES: MOTION
CARRIES
Mayor: we were in Executive Session to look at the purchase of some property but we
have not made a decision so there is nothing to report.
Mayor: I would ask for a motion to adjourn the Executive Session. Preston: So Moved.
Bastian: Point of Order. City Attorney: You don't need a motion to adjourn an executive
session, you are just out.
Mayor adjourns the meeting.
at 6:00 p.m.
