Proclamation
October 2017
WHEREAS, Domestic violence is defined as abusive behavior in a personal relationship that gives one
member control and power over another through physical, emotional, sexual, economic
or psychological actions or threats; and
WHEREAS, The Women's and Children's Alliance provides safety, healing and freedom from
domestic abuse and sexual assault through a range of services including secure shelters,
court advocacy, counseling, childcare, as well as case management; and,
WHEREAS, The City of Eagle is an important partner in the Women's and Children's Alliance's
vision to create a community where people thrive in safe and healthy relationships.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Stan Ridgeway, Mayor of the City of Eagle, Idaho do hereby join national and
local officials in proclaiming October as
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH
in the City of Eagle.
