Minutes - 2022 - Historic Preservation Commission - 06/08/2022 - RegularJ- pF T THE CITY OF EAGLE H ° HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION E ° Minutes Eagle City Hall, 660 E. Civic Lane June 8, 2022 5:30 P.M. CALL TO ORDER: Meeting called to order at 5:30 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL: Present: MACFARLANE, HEATH, DUNN, D'ANDREA. 3. PUBLIC COMMENT: None This time is reserved for the public to address the Historic Preservation Commission regarding concerns or comments they would like to provide to the Commission regarding any matter, up to and including any subject on the agenda. Out of courtesy for all who wish to speak, the Commission requests each speaker limit their comments to three (3) minutes. 4. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: A. Update regarding the Thomas Aikens Home located at 78 E. Aikens Rd. D'andrea reported that he has tried to contact the owners but has had no response. Dunn suggested keeping this item as unfinished business for continuous updates. B. Continued discussion on the formation of the Historic House Resource Guide Dunn discussed that Commissioner Fend gave websites that allow you to create your own guide. Dunn mentioned that she is looking for historic preservation contractors to add to the resource guide. Dunn suggested wanted to have a link on the website and a brochure to hand out for historic house resources. Dunn asked the other commissioners to send her information on possible contractors they may come across. C. Continued discussion on the participation for Family Fun Night and Eagle Fun Days on July 8-9, 2022 Dunn reported that 2021 had six people at the fun night booth. Discussion and suggestion by Dunn to have HPC skip fun night and do a joint booth with the museum for fun days. All commissioners agree. Discussion on what they will be doing for the booth this year, location of the booth, the hours of the event, and who will be working it. Commissioner Macfarlane discussed the possibility of the HPC doing a booth at the Art Walk. Dunn suggested sending everyone an email closer to the event as a reminder. 5. NEW BUSINESS: A. ACTION ITEM: Minutes Approval of April 13, 2022 Heath makes a motion to accept the minutes of April 13, 2022, as presented. Seconded by Macfarlane. ALL AYE... MOTION CARRIES B. ACTIONITEM: Discussion on findings of Pleasant View School Page 1 of 2 Dunn reported that she was contacted by Linda Williams saying she lives in the school. Dunn gave a brief history of the school. Williams stated that the original merry go round is still in the backyard and wanted to know if the city or museum have any interest in it. Mayor Pierce is very interested and wants to go see it and possibly accept it. Dunn said she will send all commissioners pictures of the merry go round. Dunn suggested putting Pleasant View School on the City of Eagle Historic Site Registry. Dunn explained that the building is on the original site and that the original building is still there but has been updated and added on to. D'andrea makes a motion to add Pleasant View School to the City of Eagle Historic Site Registry. Seconded by Heath. ALL AYE ... MOTION CARRIES C. ACTIONITEM.• Any items the Commissions would like to discuss in future meetings Next HPC meeting is scheduled for September 14, 2022, at 5:30 pm. 6. REPORTS: A. Commissioner Reports: No reports B.
