Resolution - 2017 - 17-09 - Establish Fees For Vendor, Solicitor, Temporary Merchant - 03/14/2017RESOLUTION 17-09 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EAGLE, IDAHO, ESTABLISHING A FEE FOR VENDOR, SOLICITOR AND TEMPORARY MERCHANT LICENSE FEES; AND CREATE THE ABILITY TO COLLECT DIRECT COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH INVESTIGATION FEES FOR VENDOR, SOLICITOR AND TEMPORARY MERCHANTS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council desires to establish take prudent steps to protect the public health and safety when permitting vendors, solicitors and temporary merchants within the City of Eagle; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to establish a fee to assist in offsetting the costs associated staff time, and materials; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to collect direct costs associated with the conduction of background investigations and WHEREAS, public notice for a public hearing for such fees has been published in The Idaho Statesman on March 4, 2017 and March 7, 2017 as required by Idaho Code §63-1311A; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EAGLE, IDAHO as follows: Section 1: The license fee for any vendor, solicitor or canvasser, or temporary merchant shall be one hundred dollars ($100.00). The license shall be valid up to twelve (12) consecutive months, unless restrictions have been established by Idaho Statute or Ada County ordinance limiting authorized date(s) of said sales. All fees shall be paid in advance. Section 2: Direct costs, (collected at time of application, in the amount of $37.00), associated with the conduction of a background investigation fee for each applicant representative proposed to operate within Eagle City limits. Additional fees may be required by the Agency tasked with conducting the investigation; those fees will be collected directly by the Agency.
