PROGRAM FEATURES:
• A simple, customizable process for libraries to quickly convert discarded books into new
content.
• Turn unwanted book materials into credit
• Libraries can be provided pre-labeled boxes and pick-up is arranged at no cost to the library
• Receive credit for discarded books within 30 days
SSP PROCESS:
• Library completes Sustainable Shelves Agreement and sends to SustainableShelves@baker-
taylor.cotr, and cc andrew.beckerObaker-taylor.com
• Library receives welcome email with instructions to set up their account in the SSP Portal
• Library uploads weeding list for valuation in SSP Portal
• Baker&Taylor analyzes list and categorizes books into two groups-pinks and greens
• Library is provided a quote for library's review and acceptance
• Library packs up materials based on the color designation included in the Quote
• Baker&Taylor' will provide prepaid shipping labels
• Library is credited within 30 days of receiving books
COMPENSATION SCHEDULE:
• No cost to library for boxes, labels, book pick-up or shipping
• Library receives payment for weeded book value within 30 days of books arriving at our facility
o Check compensation 10%- bronze level
o Book/materials credit 15%- silver level
o Baker&Taylor Software credit 20% -gold level
o Baker&Taylor Software credit 25% (green category only pick up) - platinum level
x Customer agrees to participate in Baker&Taylor Sustainable Shelves Program
