ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EAGLE, ADA COUNTY IDAHO. AMENDING
EAGLE CITY CODE, TITLE 8, CHAPTER 9, SECTION 2, "HISTORIC
PRESERVATION COMMISSION"; AMENDING TITLE 8, CHAPTER 9, CII2B FERS ci%7 ki
7, "PROCEDURES FOR DESIGNATION OF HISTORIC DISTRICTS", AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL, OF THE CITY OF EAGLE,
IDAHO, as follows.
Section 1: That Section 8-9-2C, Eagle City Code, be, and is hereby, amended to read as
follows:
8-9-2: HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION:
C. The members of the Commission shall take office as of the date of their
appointment and qualification. Appointments shall be for two (2) three (31 to
five (51 years. All members shall be eligible for reappointment and vacancies
shall be filled by appointment for the balance of the unexpired term.
Section 2: That Section 8-9-7A, Eagle City Code, be, and is hereby, amended to read as
follows:
8-9-7: PROCEDURES FOR DESIGNATION OF HISTORIC DISTRICTS:
A. Designation of a co ersial historic district may be initiated by request from the
Council, or one or more owners of property located within the area of the
proposed district, or by a member of the Commission. Upon receipt of such a
request, the Commission shall make an investigation of the historic, architectural,
archeological and cultural significance of the buildings, structures, features, sites
or surroundings included in the proposed district, based on the criteria set forth in
Section 8-9-6 of this Chapter. Upon completion of this investigation, the
Commission shall prepare a report containing its findings and recommendations
concerning the area to be included in the proposed historic district.
Section 3: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage,
approval, and publication as required by law. In lieu of publication of the entire
ordinance, a summary thereof in compliance with Section 50-901A, Idaho Code, may be
published.
