ORDINANCE NO. 391
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EAGLE, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO, AMENDING
THE EAGLE CITY CODE BY AMENDING TITLE 8, CHAPTER 9, AND CREATING
A NEW TITLE 2, CHAPTER 6, ENTITLED HISTORICAL PRESERVATION
COMMISSION AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Eagle ("the City") owns a building at 67 E. State Street, Eagle,
Idaho 83616 ("the building"), part of which building is used by the Eagle Chamber of
Commerce under an existing lease agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City intends to provide the unleased part of the Building to the Eagle
Historic Preservation Commission ("the Commission") at the pleasure of the City
Council, to establish, manage and operate an historical museum ("the Museum") that will
benefit the City, its residents, visitors and the public by increasing their knowledge and
understanding of local, state and national history, architecture, archaeology and cultural
heritage;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EAGLE, Ada County, Idaho:
Section 1: Title 8, Chapter 9 of the Eagle City Code is hereby amended as follows:
8-9-1: PURPOSE: is amended by deleting this section.
8-9-2: HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION: is amended to become 2-6-1
8-9-3: ORGANIZATION AND ADMINISTRATION: is amended to become 2-6-2 with
the addition of Paragraph E. and F. as follows:
8-9-3E: Provide recommendations and participate in the establishment, operation
and development of an Eagle Historical Museum.
8-9-3F: The Commission shall meet at least semi-annually and provide minutes
of such meetings to the City Clerk.
8-9-4: POWERS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES: is amended to become 2-6-3
8-9-5: ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY: is amended to become 2-6-4.
8-9-6: CRI hRIA FOR SELECTION OF HISTORIC PROPERTIES, LANDMARKS
AND DISTRICTS: is amended to become 2-6-5.
8-9-7: PROCEDURES FOR DESIGNATION OF HISTORIC DISTRICTS: is amended
to become 2-6-6.

8-9-8: DESIGNATION OF HISTORIC PROPERTIES OR HISTORIC LANDMARKS:
is amended to become 2-6-7.
8-9-9: PROCEDURE FOR DESIGNATION OF HISTORIC PROPERTY OR
LANDMARK: is amended to become 2-6-8.
Section 2: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage,
approval, and publication as required by law. In lieu of publication of the entire
Ordinance, a summary thereof in compliance with Section 50-901A, Idaho Code, may be
published.
