RECALL PETITION
To the honorable Sharon Bergmann, City Clerk for the City of Eagle:
We, the undersigned citizens and registered electors of the City of Eagle, respectfully demand that Jeff
Kunz, holding the office of Council Member, of the City of Eagle, be recalled by the registered electors of the
City of Eagle for the following reasons, to -wit:
Whereas Council Member Kunz was elected to serve and represent the best interests of the entire Eagle
citizenry, not merely select special interests with whom he agrees; and
Whereas, Mr. Kunz has repeatedly violated transparency requirements and ignored open meeting laws by,
for instance, keeping actions and decisions related to the Eagle Road/State Street Intersection Study secret, by
instructing individuals to use his personal email address and not the city email address and by then changing
personal email accounts and not retaining, either by deletion or destruction, emails required by law to be open
to public inspection; and
Whereas, Mr. Kunz has been openly rude and demeaning to the public, community volunteers, and other
Council Members; and criticizes citizens engaging in their civil right to free speech by angrily and arrogantly
insisting that he is right and his concept of his integrity outweighs anyone's right to question it; and
Whereas, we have no confidence in Council Member Kunz's ability to execute the duties and
responsibilities of his position and fairly represent the overall community, other than in a manner detrimental
to the City of Eagle.
Therefore, Council Member Kunz must be replaced and it is necessary that a special election therefor be
called; that we, each for himself say: I am a registered elector of the City of Eagle, my residence, address
including city, and the date I signed this petition are correctly written after my name.
