A. ACTION ITEM: CLG Grants: Dunn reported that SHPO had contacted her regarding the
recent purchase of the Jackson house by the City of Eagle. They suggested the HPC apply for
a grant to help with the preservation of the house. Dunn spoke with Mayor Pierce who
would like to move forward with a grant application for an Historic Structure Report to be
done on the Jackson house. Dunn reported she has completed the previously voted on CLG
grants for Education and a Wind Shield Survey of downtown Eagle (Nov.10, mtg)and now
she would like to include a third CLG grant application for the Historic Structure Report.
This report would be conducted by a Structural Engineer and would include the condition of
the foundation, wiring, siding, etc. of the Jackson house. This information would be critical
to the city for the preservation of the Jackson house. Macfarlane inquired how does
SHPO prioritize when multiple applications are submitted. Dunn stated that since they
contacted her about applying for a grant for the Jackson house this would probably be
granted and depending on SHPO funds the other applications would be considered.
Dunn makes a motion to amend the earlier Action Item of two CLG Grants to include a
third grant for an Historic Structure Report.
