Minutes - 1987 - City Council - 09/08/1987 - RegularEAGLE CITY COUNCIL MEETING September 8, 1987 The City Council met in regular session Tuesday, 8, 1987. Mayor CAROL HALEY presiding. Roll Call showed the following members present: MATLOCK, MINOW, ROGERS. September GUERBER, Moved by MINOW and seconded by ROGERS to approve the minutes of the August 11, 1987 meeting. ALL AYE: MOTION CARRIED. Presentation Rosebrock, APA. of population figures 1980-2010, by Dale ADA COUNTY HIGHWAY REPORTs Council agrees with P&Z in their recommendation to write the Highway Department. Moved by MATLOCK and seconded by ROGERS to approve Resolution 5-87, a Resolution Proclaiming a General Election. ALL AYE: MOTION CARRIED. Moved by MINOW and seconded by ROGERS to approve the request by Eagle United Methodist Church for an extension of time. Council approved a one year extension. ALL AYE: MOTION CARRIED. Moved by MATLOCK and seconded by MINOW to move the item listed on the agenda as "Water Co" to the last item on the agenda and to go into executive session to discuss acquisition. ALL AYE: MOTION CARRIED. Moved by GUERBER and seconded by ROGERS to transfer $10,000 from Capital Investments to City Hall Local Fund account for payment of Connolly Construction. ROLL CALL ON THE MOTION RESULTED AS FOLLOWS: AYE: GUERBER, MATLOCK, MINOW, ROGERS. MOTION CARRIED. Discussion initiated by MICHAEL MOORE, Attorney for the City: 1. Alternate Attorney for the City of Eagle on the litigation regarding the Franchise Suit, as he has a conflict of interest having to do with the Ada County Highway Dept. Mayor HALEY will contact an alternate. 2. Garrett: Will send a letter to Garrett that it is the City's opinion that there has been no "taking" has occurred; therefore no compensation is due. September 8, 1987 Page 2 Moved by GUERBER and the council extended a HAPPY BIRTHDAY wish to MINOW, it his birthday today. ALL AYE: MOTION CARRIED. Moved by MATLOCK and seconded by MINOW to adjourn to executive session. ALL AYE= MOTION CARRIED. Council returned to regular session at 8:30 p.m. Moved by MATLOCK and seconded by MINOW to approve the claims against the city as presented.
