Minutes - 2020 - City Council - 09/03/2020 - Town HallEAGLE CITY COUNCIL Town Hall Meeting Minutes September 3, 2020 1. CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Pierce calls the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL: Present: PIKE, GOLD, PITTMAN, BAUN. All present. A quorum is present. 3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Mayor Pierce leads the Pledge of Allegiance. 4. TOWN HALL MEETING: The City of Eagle is pleased to invite all Eagle residents to attend the town hall meeting. The Mayor and City Council welcome your input and look forward to answering any questions that you may have. Kristen Waters, 3350 N. Ballantyne Lane, Eagle has questions about the waste water that may be put into Farmers Union Canal. Mayor Pierce explains options and that the decision will not be made until 2026. Baun adds further information on regulations and treatment. July Dahl, 735 N Echohawk Way, Eagle has done extensive research and explains in detail how the waste water issue works. Diane McLaughlin, 2070 S. Fox Glen Way, Eagle, is asking about the possibility of a large park on the west end of town. Mayor Pierce explains how a regional park would be beneficial. Judy Dahl also likes the idea of a regional park. Donna Burns, lives in Banbury, and would like clarification on where the glass recycling goes and other recycling that is picked up from homes. Pittman addresses recycling concerns. Pike will contact the landfill to get further information on how much room is left at the landfill. Helen Russel, 426 W Backforty, Eagle would like an update on the dog park. Mayor Pierce gives details about partnering with PetIQ and that hopes are to have the park open next spring. Tom Rengal, 2475 N SunValley Place, further questions on dog park. Shelley Brock, 8770 Chaparral Rd, Eagle would like to discuss the canal issue again. Is the council going to be sending a letter to Boise? Donna Burns asks about rebranding of Eagle and would like to know what has happened with that. Mayor Pierce talks about new brand that council has approved. Gold addresses elements that were incorporated into the branding. Diane McLaughlin would like to see what final branding was chosen. Kristen Waters, would like to know if there are plans to build additional large buildings along the highway near PetIQ. Judy Dahl would like to know if council is receiving her e-mails that she is sending to the citycouncilgroup.com. She now would like to talk about the golf course and the city should go to them and ask to have the right of first refusal to purchase in the future. Baun speaks to regional parks and connectivity within the city. Donna Burns talks about how great the art work on the traffic boxes looks. She has questions on police funding for critical issues, mental illness issues. Baun talks about discussion with EPD Chief regarding these issues. Kristen Waters, bike pathway, are any there any changes that can be made to make this look better? Baun states that this is an ACHD right of way area. Judy Dahl, has the council ever put in an application to ACHD for policy change? Why is council always passing the buck on ACHD issues? Baun and Pittman addresses how this works. Discussion on comp plan. 5. ADJOURNMENT: Baun moves to adjourn at 6:27 pm. Seconded by Pike. ALL AYE...MOTION CARRIES Hearing no further business, the Council meeting was adjourned.
