NOVEMBER 9, 1988
SPECIAL MEETING TO CANVASS VOTES
The Eagle City Council met in special session to canvass votes on
the election held November 8, 1988. The election was held for
the purpose to accept or deny the sale of liquor by the drink
within the City of Eagle.
Roll call showed the following'members present: TOM MINOW, GARY
WALKER, STEVE HAMMONS. Absent: STEVE MATLOCK. Mayor GUERBER
presiding.
Moved by WALKER and seconded by HAMMONS to adopt Resolution 9-88,
a resolution to apply for an additional Community Block Grant.
ALL AYE: MOTION CARRIED.
Moved by MINOW and seconded by WALKER to purchase a new flag pole
for the Council Chambers. ALL AYE: MOTION CARRIED.
Moved by WALKER and seconded by HAMMONS to accept the results of
the election and to declare that sale of liquor by the drink
passed the vote of the people. ALL AYE: MOTION CARRIED.
Moved by MINOW and seconded by WALKER to move the regularly
scheduled meeting of November 22, 1988 up to November 15, 1988 in
order to review an ordinance needed to permit licensing of sale
of liquor by the drink in the city. ALL AYE: MOTION CARRIED.
It was suggested that one of the 3 licenses that will be
permitted by State law for the City of Eagle should be held for
the golf course, and that the golf course should become a part of
the City of Eagle by annexation. Further discussion will resume
later after the City Attorney reviews the legalities of the
question.
Moved by WALKER and seconded by MINOW to adjourn the regular
meeting and go into executive session to discuss legal matters
and possible litigation.
The regular meeting was adjourned at 6:35 p.m.
