The ~egular meeting of the Eagle City Council was called to order
at 7:30 P. M. at the Eagle Primary school on February 23, 1982 by
Mayor Deckard.
Members present: DECKER, HALEY, STOPP~.TO, WALKER.
Mayor Deckard announced that the meeting was held as a town meeting
to discuss the 1-84 Interchange Study and its possible alternatives.
Roger Powell, Consultant and Bill Sacht of the Idaho Transportation
Department answered questions of the council and citizens and several
citizens stated their priorities in placement of the interchange.
M~ved by STOPP~.TO and seconded by WALKER to adopt the following
P~selution to be presentad at the public hearing of the Idaho
Transportation Department on behalf of the Eagle City Council.
RESOLVED: That the Depa~-~.~nt of Transportation not select Eagle ~oad
for access to the freeway until the questions of:
1. Traffic.
2. The scheduling, funding and construction of the by-pass
3. The envirorm~nt impact on our commmity are answered to the
satisfaction of the citizens of Eagle through these duly
elected officials, the Eagle City Council.
N~ll call on the motion resulted as follows: AYE: STOPP~.rO, W~LKER.
NAY: HALEY, ABSTAIN: DECKER. ~btion carried.
