The regular meeting of the Eagle City Council was called to order
at 7:30 P. M. on January 12, 1982 by Mayor Deckard at the Eagle
city Eall.
Members present: DECKER, HALEY, KRASEN, PEARMAN.
Moved by HALEY and seconded by PEARMAN to adopt the minutes of the
previous meetings of December 8, 1981 and December 15, 1981 as
printed.
Motion resulted as follows: AYE: DECKER, HALEY, KRASEN, PEARMAN.

Moved by DECKER and seconded by HALEY to pay the claims against the
city for th~ month of Dece~d0er.
Motion resulted as follows: AYE: DECKER, HALEY, KP~S~, PEA~MAN.
Motion carried.
Mayor Deckard read letters of recognition to outgoing council members
PEARMAN and KRAS~, presented them with a certificate of appreciation
and gift on behalf of the City of Eagle.
Clerk 5~DIOLA administered the Official Oath of Office to incc~ning
councilmembers STOPPk~.TO and W~LEER and Mayor Deckard presenbed them
with a Certificate of Election.
Moved by DECKER and seconded by STOPPk~.TO that Counci~ HALEY
be nc~a~nat~d for the position of council president.
There being no further nominations submitted Mayor Deckard declared
the nc~tions closed.
Motion resulted as follow~: AYE: KECEER, HALEY, STOPPk~.TO, WALKER.
Motion carried.
Moved by DECKER and seoonded by STOPPW~.TO to confirm the mayors
appointment of Judy Mendiola as City Clerk/Treasurer.
Motion resulted as follows: AYE: DECKER, HALEY, STOPPk~.IO, WALKER.
Motion carried.
Moved by DECEER and seconded by WALKER to confirm the mayors
appointment of Ann Gallinger as Librarian.
Motion resulted as follows: AYE: ~ECKER, HALEY, S~OPPk~.TO, WALKER.

of Vern Schoen as Building Inspector.

5bved by DECKER %o reject the mayors appointment of Clans, Cosho
& H~'L~krey as Attorney for the City of Eagle.
Motion died for lack of a second.
M~ved by W~LKER and seconded by DEftER to temporarily appoint the
firm of Clemons, Cosho & Hur~phrey as attorney for t_he City of Eagle
for a ~eriod of 90 days and during that time the city advertise for
bids for the position of attorney.
Motion resulted as follows: AYE: DE~{ER, HALEY, STOPP~IO, WALKER.

Moved by HALEY to cc~finn the mayors aPl~Oint~ents of Winifred C~aney,
Ida L. Smithson, Bessie Marshall and Harry Vogt to the Planning and
Zoning C~L,~.~ssion for a term of six years.
Motion died for a lack of a second.

of the council that the appointmsnts of members of the planning and
zoning comnission be deferred for two weeks giving each members of the
council a chance to reflect on th~m, ask questions of these people
and discuss the nominations with the mayor.
