August 7, 2001
1. CALL TO ORDER:
2. ROLL CALL: MERRII.I~: BASTIAN, SEDLACEK, GUERBER. Men-ill absent. A
quorum is present.
Mayor: We need to add to the Agenda Ordinance No. 400 which is repealing Ordinance
No. 377.
Bastian moves to add Ordinance No. 400 to the Agenda. Seconded by Guerber.
ALL AYE: MOTION CARRIES .............
Sedlacek moves, pursuant to Idaho Code, Section 50-902, that the rule requiring
Ordinances to be read on three different days with one reading to be in full be dispensed
with, and that Ordinance #400 be considered after being read once by title only. Sedlacek
reads Ordinance #400 by title only. Seconded by Bastian. ALL AYE: MOTION
CARRIES .................
Sedlacek moves that Ordinance #400 be adopted. Seconded by Bastain. Bastain: AYE;
Sedlacek: AYE; Guerber: AYE: ALL AYE: MOTION CARRIES ....................
3. DISCUSSION ITEMS:
A. Review previously requested changes to the proposed budget. Discussion on the
Library Budget.
B. Topics for Discussion.
1. Move forward with 1% Franchise Fee on water for the next fiscal year.
2. Christmas Decorations - Light poles. Council would like lights on State Street
approaching Eagle Road intersection and North and South on Eagle Road.
3. Discussion on Parks. General discussion on Merrill Park.
Council would like to budget $50,000 for Eagle/Ada Park.
4. City Engineer fee schedule. General discussion.
5. Rocky Mountain Fitness - Athletic & Recreation Leagues. Council concurs that the
$5,000 would be well spent.
6. Discussion on Arch Sign/Entry Sign. Change to $40,000.
7. Discussion on historical lights along Friendship Park and Heritage Park. Council
would like to proceed with this project.
Council Member Guerber leaves the meeting at 6:00 p.m.
C. Discussion on the installation of a chlorine and corrosion inhibitor to the municipal
water system.
General discussion. Council would like to proceed to have the installation of the chlorine
and corrosion inhibitor to the one municipal well. Council Member Sedlacek will follow
up on this. The Mayor may need to write a letter to United Water.
4. ADJOURNMENT:
