Resolution - 2020 - 2020-02 - Emergency Declaration Of Social Distancing Covid 19 - 03/24/2020 No. 2020-02 Declaration of Local Disaster Emergency Order (Social Distancing) WHEREAS, the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic represents an imminent threat to the life, health and property of the City of Eagle and its citizens; WHEREAS, federal, state, and local public health authorities have recommended limited interaction with others at this time and that social interactions should be limited to ten (10) people in order to reduce the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19); WHEREAS,the Centers for Disease Control ( CDC ) has issued guidelines for preventing infection by avoiding exposure, recommending six feet (6') of distance between people in order to reduce the spread of COVID-1 9 through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person COUghS OC sneezes; WHEREAS, when a public health hazard is imminent, Eagle City Code § 4-11-3(e) authorizes the mayor to summarily enact a Local Disaster Emergency Order, which postpones or cancels public meetings and hearings in order to prevent or mitigate a foreseeable, imminent, or present public health hazard; NOW THEREFORE, the Mayor of the City of Eagle does hereby issue this Local Disaster Emergency Order and declares that: 1. Individuals are requested to the greatest extent practicable that they maintain a six-foot (6') distance from other people in order to reduce the spread of COVID-19. 2. All dine-in services at restaurants, bars, and coffee houses shall be prohibited. However, takeout and delivery services are permitted at those businesses. 3. All fitness facilities such as gyms, crossfit, yoga studios etc. shall have no more than 10 patrons at any give time using said facilities. 4. If an individual is sick, stay home except to get medical care. Other individuals are generally encouraged to stay home and only go out for essentials. 5. Individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines for cleanliness and disinfection to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
