SPECIAL MEETING
MINUTES
October 21, 1997
1. CALL TO ORDER:
2. ROLL CALL: Masner, Sedlacek Present. Bastian, Merrill Absent. A quorum is not
present.
3. NEW BUSINESS:
A. Discussion with Ada County Sheriff's Department regarding the current law
enforcement contract.
Mayor introduces the issue and introduces Sheriff Vaughan Killeen and Capt. Dan Douthit.
Sheriff, Vaughan Killeen, addresses the Mayor and Council Members and discusses the
formation of a police department, going to a full service patrol 24 hours around the clock.
Provides the Mayor and Council with a proposal for 24 hour day service, 7 days a week, entitled
"Ada County Sheriff's Office Full Service Law Enforcement Contract". Discussion on the
service provided under the current contract. Discussion on traffic problems within the City.
General discussion between the Sheriff, Mayor and Council Members.
Jim Heath. Discussion on long range contracts.
Mayor suggests having a workshop on the new proposal and expanding the Eagle service.
