A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EAGLE, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO, ADOPTING A
SEVEN MEMBER BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE EAGLE URBAN RENEWAL
AGENCY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Idaho Urban Renewal Law of 1965, Idaho Code § 50-2001 et seq,
allows for the urban renewal agency board to consist of no more than three (3) members nor
more than nine (9) members, as appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the City Council;
and
WHEREAS, since the inception of the Eagle Urban Renewal Agency in 2007, the board
has consisted of nine (9) members, subject to vacancies from time to time; and
WHEREAS, the current board has suggested a seven-member board might provide a
more efficient governing body by alleviating quorum issues and the prospect of tie votes with no
way to break the tie; and
WHEREAS, a formal policy on the number of board members would provide both the
City and Agency more certainty on the governance model;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EAGLE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Eagle Urban Renewal Agency shall be governed by a seven (7) member
board.
Section 2. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its adoption
and approval.
