November 7, 1979
A special meeting of the Eagle City council was scheduled
for 7:30 P. H. on November 7, 1979 at the Eagle City
Hall to canvass the votes of the election held November
6, 1979.
Those present were: KRASEN, PEARMAN.
Since there was no quorum present the meeting was rescheduled
for November 8, 1979 at 8:30 A. M.
A special meeting of the Eagle City Council was called
to order on November 8, 1979 at 8:30 A. M. by Mayor
Deckard to canvass the votes of the election held November
6, 1979.
ARNOLD, KRASEN, PEARMAN were present.
The votes were canvassed and the official ballots cast as
follows:
369 ballots cast of which 2 were absentee, 4 spoiled ballots
making 373 ballots issued.
Of those cast the following was recorded:
Jerry Deckard - Mayor=286,Floyd A Deckard - Councilman
4 year=22l, Carol Haley - Councilman 4 year=214, Alfred w.
Sturr _ Councilman 4 year=85, Thomas W Wilson, Councilman
4 year=137, Roland Freidericksen - Councilman ~ year=168,
LeRoy Pearman - Councilman 2 year=17S. 1 write in ballot for
councilman 2 years, 2 write in ballots for councilman 4 years
and 33 write in ballots for mayor.
The results of the advisory ballots asking "Shall the city
council hold a General Obligation Bond Election to raise
$1,000,000.00 to build a civic center in Eagle" resulted
as follows: Yes - 181, No - 181, 6 blank ballots.
Moved by KRASEN and seconded by PEARMAN to accept the
tabulation of votes prepared by the election judges and clerks
and the canvass and to declare the following candidates elected
to the offices indicated:
Mayor - Jerry Deckard for four year term.
Councilman - Floyd Decker and Carol Haley for four year term.
Councilman - LeRoy Pearman for two year term. .
Motion resulted as follows: AYE: ARNOLD, KRASEN, PEARMAN.
Motion carried.
