Resolution - 2004 - 11 - Amend The City Personnel Policy And Procedure Manual - 06/08/2004 ORIGINAL RESOLUTION NO. 04-11 A Resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Eagle amending the Eagle City Personnel Policy and Procedure Manual by adopting a provision for Maternity and Paternity Leave, and correct section numbering; amending the Eagle City/Library Drug- Free Workplace Policy by deleting Random Drug Testing; and providing for an effective date. WHEREAS, The Personnel Policy and Procedure Manual was adopted by Resolution No. 97-4 on March 25,1997. WHEREAS, The City of Eagle desires to amend the Personnel Policy and Procedure Manual to add a provision for Maternity and Paternity Leave and correct numbering. WHEREAS, The City of Eagle desires to amend the Eagle City/Library Drug-Free Workplace Policy by deleting random drug testing. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Mayor and City Council of the City of Eagle as follows: Section 1: The following shall be added to the City of Eagle's personnel Manual with the appropriate numbering changes: EMPLOYEE CLASSIFICATION, COMPENSATION, AND BENEFITS C. EMPLOYEE BENEFITS 5. Maternitv Leave Pre2nant full time Citv/Librarv employees may receive one-hundred sixty (160) hours of maternity leave at full pay in addition to accrued Annual Leave. The 160 hours of maternity leave will be2in on the birth date of the child. Additional time off related to the birth of the child may be taken in accordance with the Annual Leave Policy in this manual. Annual Leave shall not be accrued durin2 the hours taken for maternity leave. Anv employee who becomes pre2nant may continue to work until such time as the employee can no lon2er satisfactorily perform duties assi2ned accordin2 to their essential iob functions to the satisfaction of the Supervisor or until such time as the employee's physical condition is such that continued employment may prove iniurious to the employee's health as confirmed bv the employee's physician. A physician's certification may be reQuired for the employee to resume work. 6. Paternity Leave Anv full time employee may receive forty (40) hours of paternity leave at full pay in addition to accrued Annual Leave. The 40 hours of paternity leave will be2in on the birth date of the child. Additional time off related to the birth of the child may be taken in accordance with the Annual Leave Policy in this manual. All elHf)loyees seleeted hy ehanee will report to a desigRated eolleetion site immediately when notified that they were seleeted for a raRdom drug aRdlor aleohol test. SECTION 3.
