. Eagle City Code Section 8-2A-2(B)

. Eagle City Code Section 8-2A-8(E)
The design review board must find that any illuminated sign permitted under the specific

consideration shall be given to a sign's relationship to the overall appearance of the subject
property as well as the surrounding community. Compatible design, simplicity and sign
effectiveness are to be used in establishing guidelines for sign approval.
C. DISCUSSION:
. On April 12, 2005, the Eagle City Council approved a design review sign application for the
master sign plan for a multi-tenant office building (DR-l 0-05). The master sign plan criteria
allowed tenant signage on the monument sign. No building wall signage was permitted with the
master sign plan criteria. The applicant is requesting approval to modify the master sign plan
criteria to allow signage on the building. During the pre-application meeting, the applicant's
representative indicated that halo illuminated building wall signs were going to utilized on the
building. The master sign plan criteria indicates that the building wall signs are to be back lit -
illuminated, individual channel letters. It is staffs interpretation that back lit - illuminated is
internally illuminated letters. Per Eagle City Code, internal illumination is prohibited. Staff will
specifically address this in the criteria below.
