SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
January 24, 2020
1. CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Pierce calls the meeting to order at 2:30 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL: PIKE, GOLD, PITTMAN, BAUN. AU present. A quorum is
present.
3. PUBLIC COMMENT:
This time is reserved for the public to address their elected officials regarding
concerns or comments they would like to provide to the City Council regarding
subjects not on the agenda. At times, the City Council may seek comments/opinions
regarding specific City matters during this allotted time. This is not the time slot to
give formal testimony on a public hearing matter, land use application, or comment
on a pending application or proposal. Out of courtesy for all who wish to speak, the
City Council requests each speaker limit their comments to three(3)minutes.
Mark Butler, 1675 Bishop Way, discussion personnel files and the City's policy allowing
employees to look into their personnel file.
4. NEW BUSINESS:
A. Discussion re.ardin. task list for occu anc ermit at the Landin Communi
Center (175 Mission Dr.)
Mayor introduces the issue and provides an overview of the task list and the occupancy
permit at the Landing Community Center.
The Mayor discusses the items on the task list that still need to be completed and some of
the costs. The preliminary quote from the City Engineer to complete the parking lot will
be $105,000.00, there is a $40,000.00 bid that still needs to be done and there are some
security concerns that have not been completed. There is also no access control, so we
iv don't know when employees are going in and out, they are still using their keys. The cost
of the access control would be another addition charge. There are 8 doors so the cost
would be between $3,000.00 to $3,500.00 per door; this would be in addition to the
$40,000.00. General discussion.

Pittman moves to direct staff to go ahead and continue moving forward to get the
financial needs and logistics done to get the Landing project completed. Seconded
by Gold. Discussion. ALL AYES: MOTION CARRIES............
