Box 1520 Eagle, Idaho 83616 939.6813 Council: Steve Guerber Michael Huffaker Norm Semanko A1 Shoushtarian April 9, 2008 Gordan Finley 440 W Fordham Dr. Eagle, ID 83616 Re: Expiration of Building Permit 05-04-013 at 440 W Fordham Dr. Dear Mr. Finley, Per your conversation with Charlene Elg today, Building Permit issued for the garage addition located on Lot 4 Block 4 of the Banbury #2 Subdivision is deemed expired as of September, 2005, under the following Building Code: Eagle City Code Section 7-1A-3 & 7-1A-4 has amended the 2003 International Building & International Residential Code Sections R 105.5 which allowed a 90 day extension, to be increased to a period of 180 Days to grant more flexibility to the building community when unforeseen conditions are presented. IBC & IRC sections 105.5 are amended to read as follows: 105.5 Expiration. Every permit issued by the building official under the provisions of this chapter shall expire by limitation and become null and void if the building or work authorized by such permit is not commenced within 180 calendar days from the date of such permit, or if the building or work authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned at any time after the work is commenced for a period of 180 calendar days. The timeframe by which a project shall be deemed to be suspended or abandoned shall be measured from the date of the last major inspection that resulted in an approval to move to the next stage of construction by the city of Eagle or if no inspection has been required then a project shall be deemed to be suspended 180 calendar days from the date the permit was issued.
