ORDINANCE NO. 561
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EAGLE, IDAHO, A MUNICIPAL
CORPORATION OF THE STATE OF IDAHO, AMENDING TITLE 7, CHAPTER IC,
SECTIONS I AND 2 AND ADDING A NEW SECTION 3, OF THE EAGLE CITY
CODE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND, PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Eagle is a municipal corporation organized and operating under
the laws of the State ofIdaho; and;
WHEREAS, the City of Eagle is authorized to appoint officials as deemed necessary for
the efficient operation of the City pursuant to Idaho Code S50-204;
WHEREAS, by Title 7, Chapter 1 C, of the Eagle City Code, the City has adopted
electrical standards and provided for electrical inspection for the protection of public
health, safety and welfare; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to amend Title 7, Chapter 1 C, of the Eagle City Code to
provide for the appointment and duties of a City electrical inspector; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to further amend Title 7, Chapter IC, of the Eagle City
Code to provide for reference to an electrical fee schedule established by resolution of the
Eagle City Council; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF EAGLE, Ada County, Idaho;
Section I: Eagle City Code Title 7, Chapter 1 C, Section 1 be and the same hereby is,
amended with the underlined text being added and the strikeout text being deleted to read
as follows:
7 -I C-I: ELECTRICAL CODE ADOPTED:
Except where a different standard is required by this article, all work of electrical wiring,
installation and construction, and the material, apparatus and fixtures used therein shall
be in accordance with the rules established in the National Fire Protection Association,
Article 70, ~2005 edition of the national electrical code, which is hereby adopted for
the city, except: compliance with article 675-8(b), will include the additional requirement
that a disconnecting means always be provided at the point of service from the utility no
matter where the disconnecting means for the machine is located. Compliance with
Article 550.32(B) shall limit installation of a service on a manufactured home to those
homes manufactured after January L 1992. The Idaho state division of building safety
electrical inspector appointed by the city council shall inspect such work and report
violations to the building official.

Section 2: Eagle City Code Title 7, Chapter IC, Section 2 be and the same hereby is,
amended with the underlined text being added and the strikeout text being deleted to read
as follows:
7-1C-2: ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR:
A. Appointment, Term Of Office: The city council-shall have the power to authorize the
Building Official to appoint some person qualified and experienced in electrical work to
be electrical inspector who shall hold such office position at the discretion of the city
council.
B. Duties: It shall be the duty of the electrical inspector to attend to the enforcement of
the provisions of this article as the same shall pertain to the inspection and supervision of
electrical wiring, apparatus, equipment, machinery and signs within the city. He shall
make a thorough and complete inspection of all outlets on any work done under permits
issued under this article. He shall report in writiFlg to the council at its first meeting in
each month as to the inspections made by him duriFlg the month preceding and pay to the
city treasurer at such time all fees collected by him in the same period. The electrical
inspector appointed by the city council shall inspect such work and report violations to
the building official.
C. Compensation: The compensation that the electrical inspector shall receive for ffis
work shall be based on Grade and Range table as adopted by the fi)(Cd by the city council
and shall be paid in the same mar.ner as other claims against the city. (1985 Code)
Section 2: Eagle City Code Title 7, Chapter I C, be and the same hereby is, amended to
add a new Section 3 with the underlined text being added to read as follows:
7-1C-3: FEE SCHEDULE
All buildings shall be subiect to electrical fees as established and set by resolution of the
Eagle city council. A schedule of said fees shall be maintained on file in the office of the
city clerk.
Section 3: If any provision or section of this Ordinance shall be held to be invalid by a
court of competent jurisdiction, then such provision or section shall be considered
separately and apart from the remaining provisions or sections of this Ordinance, which
shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 4: This Ordinance, or a summary thereof in compliance with Section 50-901A,
Idaho Code, shall be published once in the official newspaper of the City, and shall take
effect immediately upon its passage, approval, and publication.
