Ordinance - 2006 - 557 - Amend Title 1; Appointment Of Officers - 09/12/2006 ORDINANCE No.557 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EAGLE, IDAHO, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE STATE OF IDAHO, AMENDING TITLE 1, CHAPTER 6, SECTION 1 OF THE EAGLE CITY CODE GRANTING THE CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER CRIMINAL CITATION ISSUING AUTHORITY AFTER BEING DULY SWORN BY THE MAYOR; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, City of Eagle is a municipal corporation organized and operated under the laws of the State of Idaho; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the City of Eagle believes that to properly and efficiently utilize personnel expertise and available resources of the City of Eagle, it is in the City's best interest to grant the Eagle City Code Enforcement Officer the authority, upon the duly swearing in by the Mayor, to issue criminal citations for the violations of the Eagle City Code. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EAGLE, ADA COUNTY IDAHO, as follows: Section I: Title 1, Chapter 6, Section I of the Eagle City Code is hereby amended as follows: 1-6-1: APPOINTMENT OF OFFICERS: A. The mayor, with the consent of the city council, shall appoint a city clerk, city treasurer, city attorney, and such other officers as may be deemed necessary for the efficient operation of the city. (Ord. 7; amd. 1985 Code) B. The mayor, by and with the consent of the city council, shall make appointments to all city offices now existing in the city which have not been in this chapter specifically named and which may be hereafter created from time to time by the city council. (Ord. 7) C. The mayor. by and with the consent of the city council. shall appoint and dulv swear in a code enforcement officer granting such officer the authority to issue criminal citations for violations of the Eagle City Code. Section 2: This Ordinance, or a summary thereof in compliance with Section 50-90 I A, Idaho Code, shall be published once in the official newspaper of the City, and shall take effect immediately upon its passage, approval, and publication.
