RESOLUTION No. 06-03
A RESOLUTION OF THE EAGLE CITY COUNCIL, EAGLE, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO
ADOPTING A CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION VERIFICATION FORM, REQUIRING
CONTRACTORS PERFORMING CONSTRUCTION WORK WITHIN THE CITY OF EAGLE
TO VERIFY COMPLIANCE WITH THE IDAHO CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION ACT,
TITLE 54, CHAPTER 52 OF THE IDAHO CODE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, The 58th Idaho Legislature passed House Bill 163, the Idaho Contractor
Registration Act, which requires contractors to be registered as of January 1,2006. The Governor
did sign the bill into law. The Act requires registration, not licensure.
WHEREAS, Under the provisions of Idaho Code, Section 54-5209 Building Permits
and Contractor Registration Number - Posting at Site. (I) On and after January 1,2006, no
building inspector or such other authority of any county, municipality or district charged with the
duty of issuing building permits or other permits for construction of any type shall issue any
permit without first requesting presentment of an Idaho contractor's registration number. No
person engaged in construction activities who is otherwise exempt as set forth in section 54-5205,
Idaho Code, shall be required to have a contractor registration number.
WHEREAS, Idaho Code Section 54-5203 states; (3) "Construction" means the
performance of building, altering, repairing, adding to, subtracting from, improving,
reconstructing, moving, excavating, wrecking or demolishing any building, highway, road,
bridge, or other structure, project, development or improvement to real property, or to do any part
thereof, including the erection of scaffolding or other structures or works in connection therewith.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EAGLE, IDAHO.
The Eagle City Council hereby adopts the Contractor Registration Verification Form
attached hereto as considered, heard and adopted by the Council at its January 10, 2006, meeting.
This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its adoption and
approval.
ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Eagle, Idaho, this 10th day of January, 2006.
