AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EAGLE, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO,
REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 6-95, ADDING SECTION 1-11-3 TO THE
EAGLE CITY CODE ESTABLISHING A POLICY FOR COMMUNICATIONS
WITHIN AND BY THE CITY, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Eagle, Ada County, Idaho (the "City"), desires to repeal
Resolution No. 6-95, adopted on December 12, 1995, relating to communication within
and by the City; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to add a new Section 1-11-3 to the Eagle City Code
establishing a policy for communications within and by the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EAGLE, Ada County, Idaho,
Section 1: That Resolution No. 6-95, adopted on December 12, 1995, relating
to communication within and by the City, is hereby repealed.
Section 2:

That a new Section 1-11-3 be and hereby is, enacted to read as
1-11-3. Internal Communication Policy
A. All documents related to the City of Eagle whether in final or
draft form generated or received by the Mayor, Council
Members, City Attorney, City Engineer, City Clerk, or Zoning
Administrator and distributed for the purpose of conveying the
content of the documents shall be distributed to the Mayor and
Council by mail, fax, or otherwise within 48 hours from the
date of distribution or receipt.
B. No position or policy presented as that of the City of Eagle, in
any communication, whether written or oral, shall be presented
by any elected official, appointed official, or employee of the
City of Eagle without prior approval by the City Council.
C. Meetings of public agencies assembled by or attended by the
Mayor or any Council member to discuss matters related to the
City of Eagle shall be noticed to the Mayor and Council
members at least 72 hours in advance or as soon as otherwise
possible.

Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its
passage, approval, and publication as required by law. In lieu of publication of the entire
Ordinance, a summary thereof in compliance with Section 50-901A, Idaho Code, may be
published.
