ROLL CALL: BAUN, BROOM, CROCKETT, HEILMAN, MARSHALL, MINCH, STIRRAT Absent – MARSHALL, STIRRAT 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: A. Minutes of May 16, 2019 Crockett moved to approve the minutes of May 16, 2019 as written. Seconded by Minch. ALL AYES… MOTION CARRIES. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT: None 5. MAYORS BRIEFING: Mayor Ridgeway states that the police department estimated 35,000 – 40,000 people attended Eagle Fun Days. Commissioner Baun asked if the Charlie Woods Park was going to be discussed. Mayor Ridgeway stated they are waiting for the two ponds to be connected. Commissioner Baun requested that a work session regarding the Charlie Woods Park be put on the agenda for the next meeting. Mayor Ridgeway stated that there is a lot of land that needs to be converted into parks and the main goal is to get the 35-acre playing field done and then discuss the Charlie Woods Park. Mayor ridgeway shared the plan for the Parks Department and Museum to move into the recently purchased buildings, The Landing. 6. TRAIL SUPERINTENDENT REPORT: Steve Noyes stated that on June 27th the Eagle Road underpass has been reopened. On 44 Trail the underground pipe has been installed and approximately half of the trail has been repaved. ACHD Bike / PED Study will be available in October. A license agreement was made for Boise Hunter Homes to maintain the trail that needed repair. The bridge located behind Lonesome Dove on the green belt will be removed. The City of Eagle received an official notice from FEMA that the HMGP funding request has gone to the federal level. Idaho Parks & Recreation gave the City of Eagle $100,000.00 to start phase one of the Eagle Island connection. Commissioner Baun asked regarding the equestrian trails and the master trails plan and if Avimor was removed. Steve Noyes stated that Avimor was only listed as an area of reference. 7. RECREATION SUPERINTENDENT REPORT: Brandon Johnson provided statistics regarding the classes and programs that are offered. The Fall/Winter Activity Guide will be available the first week of August. Reid Merrill Park construction should begin within the next 10 days. Eagle Fun Days had approximately 40,000 people show. It was fun and ran extremely smooth. The only concern for next year is where to have fireworks. The Saturday Market is up 16% in sales and 50% in customers which is a significant amount from last year. Commissioner Baun asked what vendor was chosen for the splash pad. Brandon Johnson stated the chosen company is Landscape Structures represented by Sonntag Recreation. Commissioner Baun requested that the Charlie Woods Park & an M3 report be added to next months agenda. Page 2 of 2 8. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: None 9. NEW BUSINESS: None 10.
